How to write a product manager resume
Product management resumes have a credibility problem: everyone “drove strategy” and “partnered cross-functionally.” The fix is specificity about scope and causality. State what you owned (the surface, the metric, the team size), what you decided, and what moved: “Owned activation funnel for a 2M-user app; redesigned onboarding raised week-one retention from 22% to 31%.” Numbers you influenced are fair game if you are honest about your role — interviewers will drill into exactly this, so the resume should set up stories you can defend in depth. Show the full arc at least once: discovery (users interviewed, experiments run), decision (what you cut and why), delivery (shipped when, with whom), and result. Include the unglamorous PM evidence screeners actually filter for — roadmap ownership, prioritization frameworks, experiment velocity, stakeholder surface — and mirror the posting’s language, since “growth PM,” “platform PM,” and “technical PM” are distinct keyword families. Keep it to two pages maximum; strong PMs are ruthless prioritizers and a bloated resume argues otherwise. Skip vanity metrics like meeting counts. A clean, modern, single-column layout — like this example — signals the same clarity you claim to bring to products, and parses reliably through every ATS.
