Business analyst postings vary wildly — some want a requirements engineer, some a process-improvement lead, some a junior data analyst — so read each description closely and lead with the flavor it asks for. Across all of them, the winning move is converting invisible work into visible numbers. Requirements gathering becomes “Documented 120 requirements across 5 departments; delivered system replaced 3 legacy tools and cut invoice processing time 40%.” Process mapping becomes cycle-time reduction; stakeholder workshops become the decision they produced. Name your artifacts precisely — BRDs, user stories, process maps, UAT plans, gap analyses — because ATS filters match on those exact terms, and name the systems you have worked around (ERP, CRM, claims platforms) since domain familiarity is often the real filter. Show the bridge both directions: business stakeholders you translated for, and technical teams you handed specifications to. If you carry a CBAP, Six Sigma belt, or Agile certification, give it its own section rather than burying it in prose. One page for under seven years of experience, two beyond that. A restrained, minimal template like this example keeps the focus on content — fitting, for a role whose whole job is clarity.
